Lots of news from my appointment yesterday, but little time to talk about it. I'm on a break between 2 college fairs that I am working at today, my last 2 events for work for a while! First they did an ultrasound to estimate how big Amelia is. I was quite surprised when the tech told me that she was measuring 39 weeks, 6 days already! They estimated her weight to be about 8 pounds, 5 ounces!
When I saw my doctor, she checked me and I had only dilated to one centimeter. She suggested that we wait until Tuesday and she will check again for more progress. If I haven't dilated more by then, they will admit me to the hospital on Tuesday night to start drugs that will speed things along before they induce labor on Wednesday morning. If I have made more progress, they will admit me Wednesday morning to be induced. I really hope that we progress a little more and I don't have to spend an extra night in the hospital. I'd rather just go Wednesday morning. Either way, if she doesn't come on her own before then, we will be meeting our precious girl in 6 days!
I am so so bummed that my sister, Mar can't be there for the birth if Amelia waits until Wednesday to arrive. She is in nursing school at Southern Miss and can't miss her clinicals on Wednesday and Thursday. Mar, I promise I am going to walk and walk and walk to try to speed things up so maybe she will come on her own before then!

Oh my gosh, I am so excited!!!!! You know that Aunt Judy just lives right here! HA HA that means that I can come to the hospital and wait with Maw Maw Kathy for the blessed event. I promise that I will not intrude.
